We're excited to have you join our community of learners and teachers. This guide will help you get started with the platform and make the most of your learning experience.
1 Creating Your Account
For Students:
- Click on the "Sign Up" button in the top right corner
- Choose "Student" as your account type
- Fill in your email address and create a strong password
- Complete your profile information (name, date of birth, country)
- Verify your email address by clicking the link sent to your inbox
For Teachers:
- Click on "Sign Up" and select "Teacher"
- Provide your email and password
- Complete your professional profile (qualifications, experience, subjects)
- Upload required documents (certificates, ID)
- Submit your application for review (usually takes 24-48 hours)
Tip: Use a strong password with at least 8 characters, including uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters.
2 Completing Your Profile
A complete profile helps you get the most out of IslamicEdu:
- Profile Picture: Upload a clear, professional photo
- Time Zone: Set your correct time zone for accurate lesson scheduling
- Learning Goals (Students): Tell teachers what you want to learn
- Teaching Subjects (Teachers): Select the subjects you can teach
- Availability (Teachers): Set your available hours for lessons
3 Navigating the Dashboard
Your dashboard is your control center. Here's what you'll find:
Upcoming Lessons
View all your scheduled lessons with dates and times
Messages
Communicate with teachers or students
Wallet
Manage your balance and payment methods
Notifications
Stay updated with lesson reminders and messages
4 Booking Your First Lesson (Students)
- Go to "Find Teachers" from your dashboard
- Use filters to search by subject, price, or rating
- Click on a teacher's profile to view their details
- Check their availability calendar
- Select a date and time that works for you
- Confirm and pay for the lesson
- You'll receive a confirmation email with lesson details
Note: You can book lessons up to 30 days in advance. Make sure to book at least 24 hours before your desired lesson time.
5 Joining Your First Lesson
When it's time for your lesson:
- Go to your dashboard 5 minutes before the lesson starts
- Click on "Join Lesson" button
- Allow camera and microphone access when prompted
- Wait for your teacher to join (they'll usually be there early)
- Enjoy your lesson!
Tip: Test your camera and microphone before your first lesson. You can do this in your account settings.
6 After Your Lesson
Once your lesson is complete:
- You can download any materials shared during the lesson
- Leave a review for your teacher (helps other students)
- Book your next lesson if you enjoyed the experience
- Check your lesson history in your dashboard
